How to allow users to add and edit their GeoDirectory listings?
GeoDirectory comes with built in features to allow your site visitors to add and edit their own listings, all from the frontend - and all these features are included in the free GeoDirectory plugin available on WordPress.org!
Adding Listings
To allow your visitors to Add Listings, here is a checklist
Enable User Registration on the site - Users will need to register and then login to post a listing.
Enable this option in
WP Admin - Settings - General - Membership - Anyone can register
Menu items - Add a menu link that points to the Add listing page (GD Add Listing Page template) - Users will need to visit the add listing page to fill out the form with the listing details.
Viewing "My Listings"
Here are 3 options. The UsersWP has the most features.
UsersWP Listings on Profile integration - This is the most full featured option and worth a look!.
GD Dashboard widget - Insert the GD Dashboard widget in the sidebar or footer to give your logged in users links to view their listings.
GD Listings for 'current_user' - Add a GD Listings widget to a WP Page and use the advanced author filter option for 'current_user' to show the logged in user's listings. Add one GD Listings for each post type.
Edit Listings
GD Author Actions - Add this widget to the GD Details template to allow users to access the edit page for the listing.
